First copy or more copies?

To breed your first copy, start with a pair that does not require that target. To breed more, a pair containing the target may be useful—but you still need both parents and their required sexes.

A concrete example: Jormuntide Ignis

The Jormuntide + Blazehowl row has no direct dependency on Ignis. It does not establish where, how early or how easily either parent can be acquired. The same-species row needs two Ignis individuals, one male and one female; owning one alone is not enough.

Start with the task you can actually complete

  1. Open the target’s breeding profile and check the imported recipes and sex conditions.
  2. If you do not own the target, use Exclude pairs that directly need the target. This only filters a direct pair; it is not a route proof.
  3. Open route planning and add the species you actually own. First-copy mode removes the target from starting resources and rejects target-dependent cycles.
  4. Read every step’s two parents. A conditional plan names extra species still needed; it is not complete with your starting collection.
  5. Check individual counts and sexes in game before breeding. The species-only planner does not know which individuals you own.

If no first-copy plan appears

The route search is capped at 3 generations, 5 plans, bounded time/candidates and 2 intermediate plans per species. “Not found within limits” is not “impossible in the game.” A same-species-only imported result is a snapshot boundary; this tool does not invent a capture or acquisition route.
